In Metagates, item balance and abilities are carefully designed to provide a diverse and engaging gameplay experience for players. The item stats for weapons and armor, along with abilities and their values, are crafted to offer a wide range of options for different playstyles and character builds.

Item Stats:

Weapon Stats:

1. Base-Damage (decimal value): Determines the raw damage output of a weapon.

2. Auto-Attack Speed (decimal value, attacks-per-second): Dictates the frequency of basic attacks with a weapon.

Armor Stats:

1. Health (decimal value): Adds to the total health pool of a player, increasing survivability.

2. Mana (decimal value): Adds to the total mana pool of a player, allowing for more frequent ability use.

3. Defense (decimal value): Translates into a percentage of damage mitigation, reducing incoming damage.

4. Tenacity (decimal value): Translates into a percentage of crowd control (CC) duration mitigation, shortening the effects of stuns, slows, and other disabling effects.

The weapon and armor stat values can scale with different item tiers, offering a clear progression path for players to follow as they upgrade their gear.

Abilities:

Ability values play a crucial role in defining a player's combat prowess and versatility. Each ability has the following values:

1. Base-Damage (decimal value): Determines the raw damage output of an ability.

2. Mana Cost (decimal value): Specifies the mana required to execute the ability.

3. Modifier (decimal value): A scaling factor that enhances the ability's damage based on weapon stats.

4. Cast Time (decimal value): The time, in seconds, it takes to complete the ability's activation.

5. Cooldown (decimal value): The time, in seconds, until the ability can be used again.
